Sara's Top Ten Final Fantasy Heroes Part 1: Heroines (7/8/10)

Well, the schedules way off, but all of the ones mentioned are still coming.  Anyways, this starts my multi-part, mini, sub series set (seriously, this is still part of my games I played this Spring, my Final Fantasy series, and now I'm even doing a Top Ten multi parter...I've lost my freaking mind I think) about the Final Fantasy heroes.

In this series, I'll go over my favorite heroines, heroes, and summons from the series.  Unlike previously though, you'll see a top ten in between every My Favorite Game now, so prepare to see a few more frequent posts (I hope).

However, enough with the plans for the future, and on to the list.  Please keep in mind that if I haven't played an FF game, or don't have enough knowledge about the characters, they won't make it on the list.  Sorry Garnet and Lightning, you may be the best, but you won't be on here.

10.  Yuna

Ah, the pure, sweet summoner ready to sacrifice herself to the greater good of Spira...dumb ass!  Yuna in the first game really annoys me, mostly because she acts like such a door mat.  However, in X-2, she really redeems herself, at least in my eyes, when she saves the day by taking out Shuyin.

9.  Quistis Trepe

What can I say?  Quistis is the only Blue Mage character I like, and with good reason.  She's tough, she's smart, and she can use a bull whip almost as well as I can.

8.  Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca, a.k.a. Ashe, Amalia

The dethroned princess, turned sword of the gods, who defied the gods and saved her kingdom.  She's a really interesting character, damned by her fate as the rightful heir to a kingdom now gone.  Her quest was superbly crafted, and had she been the main character, XII might have more love than it ended up with...maybe.

7.  Lulu

By far, my favorite Black Mage in the series, and the coolest mom in gaming, I can think of (Bayonetta maybe comes a close second...sort of, depending on how you count her relationship to Cereza).  She's cold, calculating, and uses a stuffed animal to smack around her enemies when she doesn't resort to magic.  All awesome in my book.

6.  Tifa Lockhart

The revolutionary monk with a motherly demeanor makes it on the list simply because of that very odd mix of character traits.  The fact that she's the obviously much better choice for Cloud also helps.

5.  Paine

The recorder of the Crimson Squad makes it on the list for two reasons.  The first, she's just a cool character, actually making Rikku look good just by standing next to her.  The second, is she mocks Rikku and Brother on a regular basis, which I find hillarious.

4.  Fran

The exiled Viera doesn't say much, but when she does, she has the best lines.  As the companion of the sky pirate, Balthier, she joins the adventure of XII bow in hand, but she becomes the best black magic user in the game pretty quick.

3.  Ritz Malheur

A strong willed girl in the real world only became a bad ass with magical abilities and a sword.  Ritz is one class president you just don't want to screw with.

2.  Rydia of Mist

By far, the coolest summoner in the series.  Rydia is the only character to age dramatically in the series, and she has access to some of the strongest Summons in the series.  The only thing against her is she doesn't really have the melee to back it up.

1.  Cloud Strife

Kidding...kidding...anyways, on to the real number one.  Still, he is kind of girly, no?

1.  Faris Scherwis, a.k.a. Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon

The princess turned pirate, Faris is one of the coolest Princesses in gaming period.  The fact that she has the job class allowing her to be a red mage doesn't hurt my love for her, and then on top of that, she's just a bad ass.  Going even further from there, she was raised by the sea dragon, Slydra.  She's just cool, and that's why she's number 1.

So, that's my list.  Do you disagree on any point?  Which ones?  Do you think another should be on here?  Do any of FFIX, FFXIII, or any of the other Final Fantasy games (other than Kingdom Hearts) have one you think should be on the list?  Who, and why?  Let me know.
