'Puter Go Boom (7/19/10)

Seriously, that's the best way to describe what happened to me last night when my laptop cord shorted out and started melting and performing an impression of Jubilee (if you don't know what I'm referencing, pick up a comic or go watch some '90's super hero cartoons).

Anyways, because of such I'm on my old desktop.  Wanna know how old?  Well, let's just say by Moore's definition about transistors on a chip, that this thing has four times less than my laptop did, and possibly eight times less than current PC's.  Yeah, it's old.

As such...everything's slooooowwww.  By my usual definition, it's all pretty lagtastic.  I don't have WiFi capabilities, so I'm not on as I usually am, and things are just a pain in my ass.

Luckily, it's an easy fix...only $20-40 for a new cord, as I was able to pull the plug the moment I realized what was going on.  The laptop still runs and works, and I still have most of my files, but writing blogs are harder at the moment as it freezes up every few moments and the keyboard for it's messed up (have a much faster solution for that in my other keyboard that I let my sister borrow to play WoW while she was on a trip easier).

So, that's where I'm at...waiting on things to load, cursing this computer when I have to fix a typo because either the crappy keyboard isn't hitting right or the computer itself isn't getting the message right, and hoping that in the next few weeks I can scrounge up enough to fix my laptop.

I'll still try to update daily, and this does mean I should belt out the XII review much faster as I don't have the computer to fall back to in the same way as I did with other reviews...as such, you can probably expect it in the next day or so (just boarded the airship), so expect in in the next few days.

In good news, hopefully in the next few weeks, I should also be returning to Xbox Live on a regular...well, ok, not regular, but semi-regular basis.  Rock Band, Halo 3, and Fable 2 are the only real multiplayer games I have at the moment, but if you're interested in playing, let me know (especially if you want someone that can sing 100% on Expert...what?  I'm allowed to brag every once in a while).  Also, I'd really like to check out 1 vs. 100 some more...maybe get a group together to play with...we'll see though.

Finally, I'm still in the midst of putting together a game of Dungeons and Dragons.  I have most of the system worked out, and I might even be able to DM myself (might being the operative) if I can get some more experience.  If not...well, we'll see.

If you're still interested, I want you to send a PM to me here.  I know a lot of people have expressed interest, so it should be pretty easy.  I'm still tweaking the system though, and learning more about the game, so it still may be a week or so (loss of my laptop isn't really helping matters) before I set up the game.  I'd prefer to do it on Yahoo, as we can set up a full chat easiest there, but we'll see.

So, let me know if you're interested in 360 gaming, DnD, or, you know, if you'd like to make a donation to getting a new AC Adapter for my laptop (mostly kidding on that last one).  If I'm not around as much during the day though, now you know why.

-Sara

p.s.  If you would like to make a donation (not asking for them, but hey, there are generous people out there sometimes), send me a message.  I'll, I dunno, review ANY game you want that I can get my hands on easily.  This includes Superman 64 and Dark Angel on Xbox *cringes at the thought of playing them again*.
